These are interesting articles and would probably make good video stories, too :)
For "play on words" in the title, however, you need to make your audience see the words in the title from a different angle...it can be a pun...it can be an allusion...it is something that surprises or makes people smile...it somehow "hooks" the viewers to make them interested or curious in the story to come.
See if you can think of ways to play with words for these headlines...or try it with two new stories...

I would recommend working with the Alex Wong one a bit more...See if you can play with phrases that deal with dancing..."last dance" "wallflower" etc...

Since "last dance" is a well known phrase, usually applied in a romantic context, it plays with words to apply it to this context, where the last dance is due to his injury...

The confusion about 'fruit' and 'vegetable' arises because of the differences in usage between scientists and cooks. Okay...here are my responses for the recent posts:
Kelly: Why D, E, F? Those 3 letters might relate to something about music; as far as grades, an "E" is not part of the usual letter grade system. See if you can revise for a more meaningful play on words...
I'm not sure of the second one, either...how is it a play on words? and what is the significance of the word "for"? Does it make sense, given the article?
Kevin--you've got possibilities with the Harry Potter, but I think you can "play" a bit more...
The play with Justin's name is good, but the rest of the headline needs to make sense, too...and Just In, Swag...doesn't really make sense in relation to the article about a "swagger coach."
Joseph--both of your headlines make sense, but the tomato one could be catchier. The networking sites headline works but could possibly be shortened to "Hazardous to Your Health" or something like that...

Jisel: Why "support or deport"? Deport would deal with someone from another country but I don't think this was a factor in your article.
I don't see what's really been changed in the second headline. I would suggest working with the meaning of magic mushrooms and see if you can find something catchy there.
Who is Anuhea? Please be sure to include your real name in this stuff, you guys...my memory is not good enough to remember you by your nickname. These headlines are getting there...for the second one, you're changing the meaning a bit because the article is about helping the dogs, rather then them lending a helping paw.
Kayla: The first headline is great! It plays with words that deal with expolsions. The second one could play with whale or size a bit more.
Samara: Your headlines are catchy, but they don't really play with words. See if you can play with phrases that connect with sit-down, etc and words that connect with ducks.
Okay guys...good practice...you still have time to revise, so keep kickin' it up a notch :)

Tweak 'em a little...take the happiest place and play with "happiest"....from the article, what other "-iest" could you apply to that new resort? Take the idea of flames and fire and other heat related words and see which you could play with to match the article of the family who escaped injury in the blaze.
