Mini-Documentary: 10 minute max
All entries must focus on an ISSUE that is already affecting or may affect the community, our state, the country or the world.
Sustainability for Future Generations – Pai‘aina Sustainability: 3-5 min max
●Preservation of Natural Resources (i.e. water, land, air, etc.)
●Preservation of native Hawaiian culture in current day and age
●Sponsored by Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA)
Healthy Homes and Community Environments: 3-5 minute max
Our environment can really affect our heath. In our homes and around
our communities, what things should we be concerned about,
or what improvements can be made to keep us in good or better health? What types of environmental pollution can make us sick, and how can we change that? What are the messages that you would want to share?
Possible topics include: ●Pesticides & Herbicides ●Hazardous Waste
●Indoor Air ●Safe Drinking Water ●Walkable Communities
Peacemaker: 3-5 minute max
Apply your creativity to any topic about creating peace, such as: ●Sports or Domestic Violence, ●Road Rage, ●Bullying, ●Divorce, ●Racism, ●Genocide, ●Peer Mediation
In addition to Sony Cameras for the winning entries, the Rotary Club of Honolulu will also be awarding $200 to the 1st place winners in each school division, $100 for an Overall Honorable Mention Winner, and a Peace Book for every school
Traffic Safety: 3-5 minute max
Apply your creativity to any message related to traffic safety, such as:
●driving the speed limit, ●obeying the rules of the road, ●driving sober, ●wearing seatbelts, ●wearing helmets, ●using crosswalks, ●paying attention, ●sharing the road
